Artist Eileen Fjerstad has been painting professionally in Southwest Colorado since the mid 1980's and has become a recognized regional artist. Fundamentally, a self taught artist, Eileen, has augmented her self studies by periodic immersion in workshops given by nationally and internationally recognized artists.

Primarily a "plein-aire" painter, whose painting materials are always close at hand, Eileen has worked many years in the medium of watercolor, producing landscapes alive with the color and light provided by mother nature wherever she finds herself. In recent years, the artist has found working in the juicy, malleable, medium of oil to be exciting and satisfying, as well. Endeavoring to capture the ever-changing and delightful compositions provided by the San Juan Mountains, as well as the varieties of colors and light found in the cliffs, canyons and "hidden beauty" pockets in the deserts of the Four Corners area has brought great joy to the artist and, hopefully, to her collectors.
